September Athlete of the Month – Krish Thornley

Congratulations to our September Athlete of the Month… Krish Thornley!!
Let’s get to know Krish a little bit better with the questions below!KrishT

1. How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you find out about it?
I have been doing CrossFit off and on for 6 years. A co-worker took me to my first class on lunch break and I went off and on for several years after that. 20 months ago I was sicker then I had been in my whole life I was at the heaviest I had ever been and I had migraines one a month that were lasting 3 days and disrupting my life. Chris and I walked into CrossFit Iota during Christmas break that year and started the journey we are on now we cleaned up our diet watched the pounds melt off and have never felt or been in better shape. We both faced injuries that first year that sidelined us for the better part of at least six months but this year 2015 has been exciting to watch the change I am slowly with practice being able to do things I never thought I would be able to do the amount of weight I can lift and my ability to master the skills improves almost daily.

2. What is your favorite memory at CFA?
I have two: the girls weekend in Moab and beating my time on MURPH from last year this year by 10+ minutes

3. What’s your favorite workout and your choice of music that would go with it?
Deadlifts, floor sweeps, and rowing Eminem, Nickelback, P!NK

4. Tell us about a typical day in the life of Krish.
I get up at 6:30 and get my kids ready for school and I get ready for work, I drop my kids at Thomas Edison just after 8 and head to work at Thermo Fisher Scientific where I’m a Buyer. I spend the majority of my day in meetings, making sure orders are delivered, and customers are taken care of. I attend the 5:15 CrossFit class with my husband every chance I get, once that is done I head home to cook dinner for my family. We do the regular homework and bath time stuff until 8:30 bed time. Once the kids are in bed Chris and I watch TV and do an ab workout, or I try to catch up on my own homework if needed (I’m trying to finish up my bachelors degree at USU). Bedtime between 10:30 and 11:30 and then it all starts over again :).

5. What is your Favorite cheat meal?
Pasta at Olive Garden

6. What is a future goal of yours?
To master the main CrossFit moves

We love having you at CFA Krish, and your humble and dedicated presence is inspirational. Keep up the hard work!!
