October Athlete of the Month – Kirsten Johnson
Big shout out to our October Athlete of the Month, Kirsten Johnson!
– How long have you been doing CrossFit and how did you find out about it?
I have been doing CrossFit for about three months. I’ve known about it for years because of my mom! She’s the one who encouraged me to try it a couple years ago. I went a few times then but didn’t stick to it. Then a few months ago I asked if I could come with her to the gym everyday. Ever since then, I’ve been coming and I love it!
– Tell us about a typical day in the life of Kirsten
A typical day in the life of Kirsten… Well, I get up and go to class at 7:30, then I go to crossfit, and sometimes afterwards I’ll go shopping with my mom. Other times I’ll go home to shower and then head to class. Then I either do homework or go to work for most of the evening. Then I’ll hang out with some friends or go do something fun. It’s a pretty chill life right now. Oh, and if I can fit it in, I’ll take a nap. I loooove my bed:)
–Favorite cheat meal??
That is hard, because I literally love every kind of food. Especially pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches and SUSHI:) And burgers. And frozen yogurt!!
–If you could have a super power, what would it be and why?
It would probably be to fly. That way I can get around places faster and it would be fun:)
–What is the #1 most played song on your iPod?
Probably a Pentatonix song.
– Favorite thing to do outside of the gym
I love going to musicals/plays:) I also love going on fun, creative, inexpensive dates! Really, anything can be fun if you’re with the right people. I also love deep cleaning my room… which is kinda weird but if I just put on ‘Friends’ and just go at it, it’s super relaxing.
Kirsten has worked so hard, she’s already lost more than 20 pounds since starting CrossFit… and she’s lost 24 inches throughout her body (dropping from a pant size 16 to an 11!). Kirsten, you are such an inspiration! We are so gladΒ you’re at CrossFit Antietam!
