Box News
Announcing our challenge winners: This challenge was so much fun! I hope you all had as much fun participating as we did. There were a TON of awesome changes in so many different areas: mindset, body fat, food awareness, and non scale victories that were all shared with us, which is always the overall goal with any nutrition challenge. Losing weight is a benefit, but it’s not the only thing we’re aiming for. We truly hope you found some tips and tricks that worked well for you as well as things you will want to continue doing going forward. It’s okay to become a little lax and take a few deep breaths this week, but remember that CONSISTENCY is key!! If you continue to eat this way, even if it’s relatively close to your numbers each day, you will continue to see even more progress in the gym AND on the scale! Keep up that momentum you’ve all created!
Now for the winners…
Danny Beus!
Danny really took this challenge head on and finished with the most points! Here’s what he had to say about his experience:
“This challenge was one of the hardest things that I have done in a long time, but it could not have come at a better time for me. Physically, I had a terrible December. I was sick for most of the month and it was affecting me mentally and emotionally. One morning Kathryn came home from crossfit and said I should do this challenge. I honestly didn’t want to, but I wanted to feel better. Between the weekly challenges and working out, I was able to lose 20lbs, but most importantly, I feel better than I have in a long time. This has been a complete lifestyle change for me and I’m happier and healthier because of it. Without Kathryn doing the challenge with me, I probably wouldn’t have stood a chance. I’m grateful that she picked me up when I was down and motivated me when I was struggling. “
Lacie Jensen!
Lacie also took this challenge head on and found success in every single week. Here’s what she had to say about her experience:
“I absolutely loved doing this challenge. It has taught me so much, mainly how important it is to pay attention to what we are eating. I have always loved to workout, but eating healthy can be tricky with little ones always snacking around you. Each week I would get excited wondering what the next challenge would be. Meal planning the night before has been a huge life saver. I’m constantly on the go with 4 kids who are very involved in sports, so it was so nice to plan ahead and not have to stress about it.
Taking progress pictures every two weeks and seeing changes has been this biggest motivator. My focus quickly changed one month in from worrying about a certain number on the scale to wanting to look athletic and fit! I love counting macros. It still allows me to go to Johnny O’s every Saturday with my kids and not feel guilty. Thanks again CrossFit Antietam for helping me with my goals!”
Honorable Mention…
Kyle Parker!
Kyle made big changes over the course of the challenge! His changes were so much that we decided to add one more winner and give an extra prize for this challenge. Great job Kyle!
