This Firefighter Hero WOD is dedicated to Michael D’Auria, FDNY, Engine 40, who was killed on September 11, 2001.
Michael D’Auria always wanted to be a firefighter, following a tradition in his mother’s family.
On Sept. 11, he had been on the job for only nine weeks. Mr. D’Auria and the other members of his company on duty that morning did not return from the World Trade Center.

We will be starting a strength cycle next week for the gym. You’ll want to know your current maxes for the following lifts: back squat, front squat, clean and jerk, and snatch. If you haven’t found a recent max, go ahead and find a new one sometime this week. You can also use close guesses for where you’re at and adjust based on how you feel the first week of programming. We will post each strength session on the board under the announcements.
