And the winner is…..

To start out the new year, we hosted a nutrition challenge to kick start our new year’s resolutions. Can I just tell you not only how impressed I am with the results, but how inspired I am from each one of you.  As a group we lost over 70 inches!!  Everyone has made big changes in their bodies and big improvements in the gym!

The group of people showing up to our box everyday are amazing, and when goals are set, they are met. What a wonderful thing to be involved in. The winners each walked away with $240, and a much slimmer waistline, too! Make sure to read through the end of the post for some MORE EXCITING NEWS for the challenge participants!

THE BOYS:

While the amount of competition on the boys’ side was not as intense, Payton put up some amazing results. This guy gave up Mountain Dew, which we all know is a great feat for him!! He consistently showed up, gave it his all, and made us laugh along the way. And while his progress was incredible, we all know his wife, Julie, deserves a shout out of her own. She was an animal at paleo meals and keeping him accountable, pregnant and all. Great job to the both of you!Payton Before and After
THE GIRLS:

This challenge was SO hard to choose the winner for. The girls provided some FIERCE competition, and I truly want each of you to be able to win, because every single person made changes in their body. When it came down to the wire, there was one person who stood out to every person I had look through the pictures and measurements. Stacey Thompson blew us all away with the changes she made. If you know Stacey, you can all agree on how much progress she has made, not only in the challenge, but since joining our box months ago. She puts in the hard work, and it’s definitely showing; not only on the scale and in pictures, but also in her movements, workouts, and overall persona. Great job Stacey, we are all so proud of you!!

Here’s a few thoughts from our winners on the challenge:

“Since I started Cross-fit last August I have lost a total of 45 pounds and I am down from a size 22 to a 14/16. During the recent Paleo nutrition challenge, I lost 15 pounds along with several inches all over, including two inches from my hips. My shirts are like parachutes now and I need to make room for smaller clothes in my closet. I can wear my favorite pair of Calvin Klein jeans that have been sitting in my closet for years as well as sit down in the dress I wore for my brother’s wedding when I was in high school. My energy levels are great, my latest blood work showed that my Bilirubin and T3 levels are almost normal. I have fewer allergic reactions to environmental stressors. My body fat percentage was at 39.8% before I started Cross-fit, 34.5% before the recent nutrition challenge and now they are at 32.% The meals are colorful and delicious. I have more energy during workouts, I am able to think more clearly on the job to help customers efficiently, I absorb things I need to learn more effectively, plus I am able to stay awake without energy drinks or caffeine.” –Stacey T.

“The hardest part about the challenge was cutting out sugar and bread. Luckily my wife planned all of my meals or I probably would’ve just given up. I’m glad I kept it up though, I’m happy with my results and I feel like I recover a lot quicker from hard workouts. ” –Payton B

***We are taking this challenge one step further. Anyone who participated in this challenge is invited to continue through the end of June. We will be taking one more set of “after” pictures and measurements, and the winner who has seen the most results by then will win 1 month free membership to CrossFit Antietam!! Join us in sticking to our goals and getting MORE results! Who’s ready?
